Hotel Amour

Naughty naughty…

Oh my God, Costes’ latest easy-going, less-is-more hotel is actually a lair for the officials of the European hype! Perhaps the furniture by Charlotte Perriand and Jean Prouvé, the pictures by Terry Richardson hanging on the walls, the interior design by Marc Newson, Pierre Le Tan or Matali Crasset should have aroused suspicions…

Each of the 20 rooms has been signed by an international, top-designer with a single constraint: turning the impersonal standard hotel room into a love nest attractive to any crazy-in-love couple. Hence the usual mini bar, writing paper and bedside Bible replaced by erotic pictures and enticing, evocative deco objects.

As for room service, it has totally disappeared, leaving you to fetch your hype sandwich from the hotel café yourself –you’re not the average salesman’s wife, are you? A totally uninhibited, casual mood that will leave you to what you actually came for, hanging about in your undies in the most fashionable hotel of the year…

The Lady Luck Club

Jazz Age mania

No, no, no, you’re not going out wearing your stiletto-enhanced-jeans; tonight, we’re giving clubbing a new meaning and renewing with the stylish ladies we are at heart.

Long gone is the excitement of overcrowded noisy hip hop, techno dance floors. Old-fashioned, jazzy spirit rocks now, breathing a sweet, classy atmosphere into Londoners’ Saturday nights. At the Lady Luck Club, trendy chicks and geezers swing to the sound of Charleston and jump jives, restoring the glamour and panache of the early 20th Century. Modern dandies wearing twenties tuxedos and flappers in pencil skirts and sophisticated cocktail dresses gathering in beautiful rooms for a flamboyant party. With, of the course, the pleasure of pampering beforehand, carefully choosing one’s accessories and outfit and take on a persona before anything has even started. Say no to mediocrity and shabby venues, pick a vintage frock, put on your Dorothy Parker look, and get the real thing!

Rocabert, Madrid

Coronation street

Young fashion designer, Rocabert is opening his first shop in the Salamanca district of Madrid. After his fashion design studies at the Madrid Polytechnic University, Rocabert started off by becoming Amaya Arzuaga’s assistant, gathering the sensibility that would become his trademark. Classic cuts enhanced by details which give a sensual, feminine, sometimes mischievous touch: frills, sequins and gilding subtly applied for a tongue-in-cheek, inconspicuously extravagant look.
"The Rocabert logo perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the collections: a majestic, bright pink "R" topped with a crown, admittedly but a tilted crown. "We create clothes for well-bred young ladies who seek fun and excitement". And fun starts in the shop designed by Pepe Leal, as you pick a precious dress from the fluorescent acrylic table tops on wrought iron legs and enter the magic, black velvet and feather changing rooms to turn into a naughty princess…
